General Council
The Jamul Indian Village of California is organized pursuant to the Constitution of the Jamul Indian Village of California, adopted April 1, 2017 (the “Constitution”). The Tribe is governed by the General Council, which is composed of all qualified voters age 18 and older. The General Council, as the governing body of the Tribe, exercises the governmental authority of the Tribe and is responsible for promoting and protecting the political integrity, economic security, education, health and general welfare of the Tribe and its members. The General Council may delegate its authority to the Tribal Council, tribal committees, and tribal consortia or other entities as it deems necessary and in the best interests of the Tribe.
