Singing and dancing has been a colorful and musical part of our Kumeyaay history.  Dancing, singing and celebrations of song were a big tradition among the people. Not only for life but dancing and singing in memory of those that passed was an honor and tradition in the Kumeyaay Culture.  With the passing of time, the honored traditions were dying within all our communities.  Respected members of our Native American Community such as Chairman Leroy Elliott, John Christman, brought back those traditions and taught many of our young people today. Our people have risen and sing the songs, and dance the dances. (Below left) A young Anthony Pinto and friend having fun dancing and singing at a Powwow.
